Response Surface is the first CD from "The Learning Curve", an independant project from Jerome Pier (Jerome contributed keyboards and vocals on "Slave Labor on Mars"). The CD starts out with an elastic, up-beat sequence (Hook's law). More than a modicum of keyboard wizardry is present on this CD, both in raw technique(Harmonica, Not Bad) and in original patches (Harmonica, Response Surface). Curiosly titled, the fifth piece(Schismatrix)expresses through sighing vocals and kalimba what words never could. One piece resembles Basque guitarist on an erie plateau (Shadow World). At the end of the CD there is a bonus: Second Sufis' otherwise unobtainable audio 'death of the gods' (Ragnarok).
